The first phase of the middle route of the South-to-North Water Diversion Project will soon start flowing.If the main canal of the middle line is compared to the main artery, then the cross-city canal in the supporting project can be called the middle artery. As one of the four large water transporting canals in the supporting project of the south-to-north water transfer project in our province, the Baocang trunk canal, the middle artery, is under construction and improvement to welcome the arrival of the river.

The Baocang trunk canal, with a total length of 237 km, diverts water from the middle pipe head entrance of Quyang County, the main trunk canal of the middle route of South-North Water Diversion Project. The water is transported in the form of pipelines and hidden culverts. The project carries an average of 265 million cubic meters of river water over the years, and is responsible for supplying water to 15 targets in 12 counties (cities) in the south of Baoding, the west of Cangzhou and the south of Langfang.The water from the distant river can not only alleviate the current situation of water shortage in the affected areas, but also effectively improve the quality of life of the people in the affected areas, improve the local ecological environment, and bring new vitality and a better future to the thirsty land.
